The acceleration degradation processes of different aged refuses with the forced aeration for landfill reclamation

Forced aeration is one of the promising ways to accelerate landfill reclamation, and understanding relation between rates waste properties prerequisite implementing forced under target energy saving carbon reduction. In this work, reclamation processes with were simulated using aged refuses (ARs) 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 disposal years, potential field application was also investigated based on a project, identify degradation rate organic components, O2 consumption efficiency their correlations microbes. It found that removal matter declined from 20.3% (AR1) 12.6% (AR13), biodegradable (BDM) decreased 5.2% 2.4% at set 0.12 L O2/kg (Dry Matter, DM)/day. A linear relationship constant (K) BDM age (x) established: K = − 0.0002193x + 0.0091 (R2 0.854), suggesting might be suitable indicator reflect stabilization ARs. The cellulose/lignin ratio decrease for AR1 (18.3%) much higher than AR13 (3.1%), while corresponding humic-acid/fulvic-acid increased 1.44 2.16. dominant bacteria shifted Corynebacterium (9.2%), Acinetobacter (6.6%), Fermentimonas (6.5%), genes related decompose organics, Stenotrophomonas (10.2%) Clostridiales (3.7%), which associated humification. efficiencies lab-scale tests in range 5.4–11.8 g BDM/L ARs ages 1–13 situ 10–18 years around 1.9–8.8 O2, as decreased. discrepancy observed scale, indicating should adjusted unit compartment combined, reduce operation cost.
